Remembrance day is November 11th, and to show respect for the veterans, I like to wear a poppy .

They come with straight pins, and I am forever losing them, because they fall out and I don't notice. Either that, or I stab myself, or someone else with it.

Safety pins work, but its hard to make them look nice.

I now use a lapel pin, usually a Canadian flag, of maple leaf. You know the ones you can pick up at dollar stores, or in variety stores next to the check out.

Or, a plain stud earring in an appropriate colour can also work well.

And chances are you have one of those already laying around somewhere.

So get a poppy and wear it proudly, Lest we Forget.
